Car parking at Thuringowa Riverway is provided in close proximity to the Riverway Arts Centre. The car park offers parking for 100 vehicles. The centre is also readily accessible by public transport.
Lunch vouchers for competitors and team personnel are included in the registration fees. Additional lunch vouchers may be purchased via the registration brochure.
Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, shops, restaurants and airlines. The following cards will be accepted for the event: Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa, Diners and Amex.
The Australian Dollar (AUD) is a decimal currency with units in dollars and cents. All major National banks or their agencies have branches in Townsville. Normal banking hours are Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 4.00pm and Friday 9.30am to 5.00pm. Most banks are closed on weekends and public holidays. Electronic banking services including use of major credit cards are readily available in Australia.
Each team is required to bring 4 sets of their country flags (standard size – 900mm x 1800mm) to the event and a copy of their national anthem on CD Rom. Flags and National Anthems will need to be sent to the Event Management office prior to the event or given to the Registration Desk on registration day.
All visitors are required to have a valid passport and may need entry visas. Please check with your travel agent. Visas can be applied for and issued from the Australian Government representatives in major cities throughout the world.
Shops are open 9.00am to 5.00pm hours during weekdays and late night shopping on Thursday evening for shopping centres only. On Saturday shops are open from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
